Knitting update...

The dalek continues to grow.
I'm in the section of corrugated rib that forms the "neck".
For those not up on the knitting jargon, corrugated ribbing is where you knit the knits in one color and the purls in another color. I hold one yarn in each hand for this and knit continental (the yarn in my left hand) for the knits, and English (yarn in the right hand, which is my usual method) for the purls. Since my hands aren't used to this configuration I can't do too many rows in a sitting before my hands start to ache. As a result this part tends to go slower, even if it's fifty less stitches than I started out with at the beginning.
I mentioned casting on for a dog sweater during NaNoWriMo, and I've finished that.
I had the body from neck to just behind the legs (excluding the ribbing) done by the time I reached 50k and then knit the rest of the body (minus the ribbing) by December 2nd. I just did the ribbing in the last couple days.
I really, really hope it fits Turbo... and that Mom can get it on him with the way he gets all wiggly when he spots the leash. I'm sure it won't take him long to associate the sweater with walkies as much as he does the leash. Speaking of the leash, the sharp eyed may notice there's a button hole in the middle of the second diamond on the sweater back. That wasn't in the pattern, I added it so Mom could leave the harness on Turbo and hopefully direct his wiggles to get the sweater on and then just fish the lead on his harness out through the button hole. At least when the sweater is on him you can just pick him up and get him pretty still for that part. XD
Between finishing the body of the dog sweater and the knitting the ribbing on it I made a pair of slippers for Dad.
Dad is so hard to pick gifts for. *sigh*
