"Painted" Shoji Screens

Imagine my shock when I discovered that the last time I updated anything on my PSP site was in May 2004.

My creative pursuits have been in a serious decline over the last couple years. At least in terms of anything original getting finished.

Anyway, I wrote the tutorial mostly to remind myself how I did the graphics for [livejournal.com profile] paintedshoji.

Of course I realized after I had finished that I had actually left out a step I used for the [livejournal.com profile] paintedshoji images. It has a very subtle effect with the image I used for the tutorial however, so I'm waffling on correcting the tutorial. If I didn't think it would be odd to add the step near to the end of the tutorial I probably would add it, but it makes more sense to have the step earlier (though it really makes no impact on the process, you could do it at any point after deforming and positioning the artwork.)

Meh. I'll think on it. Maybe a footnote for what to do if you have a very light image to work with (since I only came up with the step because the first screen I made was a mostly white image.)

I "think" with too many parentheticals.
