tephraThe cats like filtered drinking water. Or at least the 'kittens' do. They always try to get into my huge glass mug anyway. Well today Shadow took advantage of my sickness inspired nap and drank from my water glass. Seriously drank, chin in the water and a furious lapping. While standing on the "scan" button of the scanner. She eventually went off to play and I figured I'd dump the water when I got up. Not too terribly long after making that considered decision she came back, stood on the scanner (and the scan button) and once again drank like a dehydrated camel. I caved in and dumped the remaining water into a plastic container and left it out for them (I later saw Patches drinking from that) and cleaned and refilled their usual water container (with the usual cold tap water) figuring she was drinking so much from my glass since her water was rather scummy looking and nearly empty. Nope, cold filtered water is infinitely better than cold tap water in her opinion, since when I finally washed and refilled my own glass several hours later both kittens wanted it, their container of filtered water was warm after all.
And I eventually had to reboot my PC because there was a scanner dialog that refused to go away. Apparently having a cat on the scan button for several minutes just locked up everything associated with the scanner and a few dozen clicks on "cancel" was getting me nowhere.
So, Shadow drank my water from my giant glass mug and crashed my PC. Teach her how to draw and she could fill in for me on sick days.
And, I must finally admit, I am sick. In the terribly not-fun way. I've been fighting it since we got back from FC but it's hitting with a vengeance now. My ears itch and hurt and my throat itches and hurts and I'm mildly congested with sinus pressure. Being one of the few people of my generation with tonsils I get a bit nervous about sore throats and ears, especially with no insurance and no money. Wish me luck as I tough this out.
My muse of writing is on vacation so no Rabbit Hole entry. My drawing muse is taking a break, probably waiting for me to catch up. I do have a couple inked pieces to scan and color, but for now I think I'll get some ice cream and then trick the kittens into playing in the living room so I can close them out of the bedroom.
