Wolf's Rain
Apr. 19th, 2004 06:31 pmIf you know about Wolf's Rain, just skip this. I'm geeking out over 'new' anime here. :)
Cartoon Network is giving me a new anime to watch starting this Saturday. That's so nice of them. ;> Wolf's Rain apparently deals with a somewhat dystopian future where humans have screwed over the world (well it is anime) and wolves, as well as most other wild creatures, are assumed to be extinct. The wolves aren't, they just look like humans.
So why am I hopeful that this won't suck? I recognized a couple names involved in the project, Yoko Kanno and Keiko Nobumoto. Who are they? The people behind the music and screenplay (respectively) of Cowboy Bebop. Keiko Nobumoto is the creator and script writer for Wolf's Rain and Yoko Kanno is doing the music. I am so ready to be enthralled.
Now I just have to reset all my pre-programmed settings on my VCR to fit Cartoon Network's new scheduling. Can't miss the new Inuyasha episodes that also start on Saturday. And Yu Yu Hakusho has also moved to Saturday (well Toonami as a whole as moved, making room for Miguzi on weekdays) so I anticipate not getting out on weekends much. :)

Date: 2004-04-21 09:49 am (UTC)I wish CN were running it in Bebop's slot on Adult Swim, then I'd only be tortured on the weekends waiting for Monday's episode. And they've been playing Bebop to death. They didn't even finish the second run on Witch Hunter Robin but this is the third or fourth rotation of Bebop. They finally swapped out Big O for Trigun though.
Part of why I'm so psyched over Wolf's Rain is that it's a new series in the listing. I was almost as excited when they put Witch Hunter Robin on.
They could dump any of the myriad Dragonball series and I wouldn't miss them in the slightest. :P

Date: 2004-04-21 10:47 pm (UTC)This series can be a bit hard to follow sometimes (it sometimes likes to jump around chronologically), but its one of the better ones I've watched lately. And you tend to fall in love with the characters :)
