Athelind, you're evil :)
Apr. 9th, 2004 08:34 pmWould you like to take a survey?
Sure, why not, just have taxes to do (I'm so late this year...)
1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
Mothers are advised to dress baby boys in BLUE because the colour, which is associated with the Virgin Mary, provides protection against evil (dressing girls in pink was a later invention with no particular significance).
Bold text indicates line 4, it's a two column layout. The book is the Cassell Dictionary of Superstitions by David Pickering.
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Garment bags full of suits. Which reminds me that it's been too long since I had an interview....
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Big-O
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is:
8pm
5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
8:01pm
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
crickets, cars on Main Street
7: When did you last step outside?
half an hour ago
8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
my friends page
9: What are you wearing?
sweats and keds
Wish I could have answered that with something kinda kinky....
10: Did you dream last night?
Not that I remember
11: When did you last laugh?
Yesterday, at some comment my student made about job listings at NASA
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Two calendars, one of cats (current cat is a ginger tiger sleeping in a bowl of chocolates) and one of "country" artwork (still life with the ubiquitous basket of flowers, a rose table runner, a straw hat, a bird's nest with 3 navy blue eggs, a red apple, and something that looks like an old wooden stamp...); a black velvet painting of a pink unicorn (don't ask); a rather neat asymmetric arrangement of shelves with assorted lead crystal animal figurines, candles, and other dust collectors; a heart shaped basket with a dried flower arrangement and a fake bird nest and bird in it (I wonder where that came from); my black leather cowboy hat; my black leather trench coat; and far too many pieces of tall furniture covering nearly all the rest
13: Seen anything weird lately?
define weird, I'd have to say no by my definition
14: What do you think of this quiz?
fairly innocuous
15: What is the last film you saw?
Theater: The Return of the King
DID: Underworld (which could have been much better than it was, some nice costuming though)
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
Buy? That's hard. A house I suppose, maybe back in Arizona. Even before a kick-ass computer system. :)
Now the first thing I'd do with the money is pay off all my debts.
17: Tell me something about you that I don't know
Did we ever establish who 'you' are?
Something 'you' don't know.... Mm.... I'm so uninteresting I can't think of anything. I'll try coming back to this later.
I seriously considered being a chemical engineer.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
Erf. And I thought the last question was tough. I like Athelind's answer, the world needs superpowers. So long as I and my friends get the ones we want. :)
19: Do you like to dance?
yes, but I don't do it much in public, too shy
20: Imagine your first child is a girl; what do you call her?
Olivia, or Kaitlyn, or Jerilyn, or.... I like lots of girls' names, which ever one of them came to me first when I saw her I guess
22: Imagine your first child is a boy; what do you call him?
Michael (sorry all you Michaels out there that think there are too many of you as it is :)
Or Braedon, or Wren, or Alathan, or.... Eh, probably Michael :)
23: Would you ever consider living abroad?
yes, English speaking countries only though
24: Will you pass on this survey?
Well it's out in public, seems likely :)
