Another sketch, and I got less than half of an older sketch inked today. I might never catch up.

Anyway, this is Elidi, a bobcat/leopard crossbreed (a bobpard?). While generally pleased with this, it's not what I was hoping to be able to do. Elidi is short (5'4") and plump. For some reason this doesn't look short to me. And she's supposed to be cute and everyone knows I can't draw cute deliberately to save my life (in fact, I don't think I can draw cute at all come to think of it). The closest I seem to come to cute is vapid, and I can't stand vapid.

Requested feedback:

• I need ideas for clothing for a plump singer in a rock band (hard rock/industrial/goth/metal).


• Suggestions for managing cute but not stupid, plump, and short.

Hmmm...

I don't quite know how to make things cute even through I somehow manage to extrude it in my art. She looks short to me and plump, but let's see on the cute. Your icon certainly has teh cute about it, so let's see if you can bring that down in to the other pic.

If I was doing this, I'd simplify the eyes a bit.. shorten that line that extends from the corner of the eye to the nose. Also, make the pupil less cat-like and more human like. That's the way I'd handle that at least.
Hmm.. can't think of anything else that would ruin 'teh cute'. *shrugs* Give it a shot.

cute is typified by a few things, depending on culture. Adding big eyes, kittens or pets, toys or child-like accessories will tend to add. Sweet or little 'I'm so naughty' expressions

How about 'Kiss'? monster boots and star make-up?
