Empathy vs. Systemizing quizzes borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] normanrafferty

Systemizing quotient: 59
51 - 80 is very high (three times as many people with Asperger Syndrome score in this range, compared to typical men, and almost no women score in this range)

Empathy quotient: 42
33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)

Autism Spectrum quotient: 15
11 - 22 = average (most women score about 15 and most men score about 17)

Reading the mind in the eyes: 30
A typical score is in the range 22-30

I think some of these are biased by training. I think about how mountains form because I was a geologist. I want details on a computer I'm thinking about purchasing because I am a computer geek. Likewise on how wireless networks work, and for knowing how to wire the electricity in the house (in fact, the last three circuits added to the house here were things I did.)

Which is not to say that I only think about how things I've been trained for work, I'm a very curious person. I'm also really organized when it comes to collections (books, movies, and CDs mostly) and tools. And we'll not talk about the half hour I spent untangling wind chimes in a store display... and then I did not actually purchase any chimes that day. *sheepish grin*

And for those of you that might be thinking the empathy score it low, I'm in the habit of discounting and ignoring my empathy a great deal. Both by training and by experience.

I did a lot better than I thought on the last quiz, and I second guessed myself on two that I missed.
