WIP: Big Blue(rasp)berry Beret
Jan. 11th, 2008 03:51 amI can't decide if I like this or not yet.
I'm doing it as part of the "Slouch-a-long" KAL on Craftster using this pattern (also on Craftster) as a starting point. Since mine is done with worsted I'm basically winging it with the pattern as a guide.
So far I like the fit, and love the pattern (I have a weakness for the trinity/blackberry/raspberry stitch), and I think this might actually be a style of hat that manages to look good on me even without a brim. What I'm not sure I like is the way the variegated yarn is pooling.
( Biggish image behind here. )
I like spirals, I love the color, I love the general shape of the hat, I love the stitch, but I'm not sure I love all of it together. At the moment I'm just knitting on and trying to decide how I feel about it. It's quite likely I will get it finished and leave it attached to the remnants of the skein as I try to figure out if I like it or not! :D
