Sierna: Not that I know of.

Aeryn: I did, but I don't know how many are still alive.
How old are you?
Sierna: The crones think I'm of breeding age.
Elyza: Twenty eight, according to the calendar and my official DOB.
Aeryn: Twenty three.
What’s your height?
Sierna: 18 hands and 3 fingers, I think that's something like 4 feet and 8 inches... whatever inches are. You people have big feet.
Elyza: 1.8 meters

Are you a virgin?
Sierna: What's that?
Elyza: They want to know if you've had sex.
Sierna: Well that's a silly question, of course I've had sex.
Elyza: Likewise.

Who’s your mate/spouse?
Sierna: Don't have one, though Nikol wants me to be his mate and give him children. I haven't given an answer yet.
Elyza: Operatives were not encouraged to have such ties and I haven't met anyone I could tolerate that well since I retired.
Aeryn: I have an ex-contract spouse, does that count?
Do you have any kids?
Sierna: No, it wouldn't be fair to them without a kin-tied mate.
Elyza: No, and not interested in any either.
Aeryn: One, but I wasn't allowed to keep her.
What’s your favorite food?
Sierna: Anything I can get.
Elyza: Vegetables, roasted and raw, humus or vegetarian bean paste, and warm flat bread.
Aeryn: Gimme a double cheeseburger with bacon and fried onions with a side of chili cheese fries.
Elyza: *looks a bit green* How can you eat all that grease? Don't your nanos just clog up?
Sierna: What's a cheeseburger? And chili cheese fries?

Sierna: No.

Aeryn: Probably, I didn't stay to make sure.

Sierna: Hate takes too much energy, but there are a few people whose voices I would not miss.
Elyza: Hate is a personal thing, I don't get close enough to people to bother hating them.
Aeryn: My mother.
Have any secrets?
Sierna: ... There's no good way to answer this one. Say no and people will assume you lie, say yes and they want to know what sort of secrets you have.
Elyza: You did notice the mention of being an operative, right?
Aeryn: Who doesn't?
Do you love anyone?
Sierna: Yes.
Elyza: I have people I care about.

Sierna: Whatever will give me food and shelter for the night.

Aeryn: I like boys, they're fun to play with. Haven't found one worth keeping around for much more than playing though.

Sierna: With my people you can't tell until you get them naked, and sometimes not until you get them warmed up, so no real preference. I'll work with what I get.
What do you do to relax?
Sierna: Sleep.
Elyza: Paint, nano or traditional, sculpt, read, generally be a hermit at home.

There’s a person who’s teasing you; what could you do?
Sierna: If they are teasing me they are of higher status and all I can do is endure if I plan to stay in the area.

Aeryn: Do I need them intact?
Let’s say you have a person who you really care about but she/ he doesn’t know about your feelings. How do you tell her/him?
Sierna: I don't. They are of much higher status than I am.
Elyza: I don't, but if they work with me they will probably figure it out when I bail them out of trouble rather than cutting my losses.
Aeryn: ...So getting me out of those tunnels was a proposal?
Elyza: That was survival, you fit through smaller openings.
Aeryn: ... Love you too dear. To answer the question, I just tell them. Life's too short to wuss out on something that trivial.
What are your bad habits?
Sierna: I don't conform as much as I should for someone of my status and take advantage of superstitious fear.
Elyza: I perhaps enjoy blowing things up a bit too much.
Aeryn: I over indulge myself with things I like.

A really early scene

"Lyza! Come on! Get up, it's time for breakfast!"
Elyza rolled over and pulled the covers over her head. What in the world did she do to get stuck with a morning person?
"It's nearly noon, even you are usually up by now."
"I didn't get to sleep until after dawn. Go away."
"Can't! We need to get the finishing touches in place and get things all nice and neat for the dollmasters." Aeryn prodded the lump under the covers with her toe. "I got you a ca-ra-mel soy lat-te," she cajoled with obvious humor.
The lump stirred and long fingered hand tugged down the covers to reveal one bleary eye. "A big one?"
"As big as I could get. I also picked up some of those little baked egg things you like and some orange juice."
Elyza considered that for a moment and sighed as she flipped the covers down. "Alright, I'm up." She scrubbed her hands over her face and into her hair as she sat up. "Food first I think, so I can have the latte for dessert."
Aeryn grinned and handed her a glass of orange juice. "Drink this first, your nanos have to be starving."
"I hate mornings." Elyza frowned at the juice for a moment and then drank it quickly. Plain orange juice was fine, she was actually very fond of it, but the first one of the day was always doctored with nanos and the assorted proteins they needed to rebuild themselves. Elyza thought it tasted awful, too thick and not sweet enough.
"I know." Aeryn looked over from the table, "Egg thingies are over here, if you're awake enough to be mobile now. I also got some muffins, including those apple bran ones. I still don't know how you can eat those."
Elyza shuffled over to the table and sat down across from her. "The same way you eat those sausage-wrapped, deep fried egg bombs." She looked at the aforementioned egg bombs on Aeryn's plate and shuddered before loading her own plate with baked eggs in potato baskets, fruit, and an apple bran muffin.
Aeryn chuckled and filled both their glasses with undoctored orange juice and pushed the caramel latte over to Elyza's side of the table. "It's not like the grease does anything bad, my nanos deal with it for me."
"It's still greasy and coats your tongue, it's just nasty."
"Then don't kiss me until after I've cleared the grease." Aeryn said with a smirk and a wink then bit into her Scotch egg.

See, I was woken up this morning (about two hours ago... morning... XD) rather terribly. It's put me in a bad mood. D:<
Anyway. Back on topic.
"sausage-wrapped, deep fried egg bombs" - funnyfunny. She has a sense of humour!!(again, was not expecting it, but is pleasantly surprised)

- Oh god. If only. That's /so/ not faaaaaiiir.....

Date: 2008-03-08 04:08 am (UTC)Aeryn likes knives. She's a street kid and never forgot what it was like to be small and weak so she fights dirty. She's also the sort of morning person every not morning person hates, but she's so cute that no one's killed her for it yet. :D
Elyza tends toward the dry and snarky sort of humor, which Aeryn appreciates even if she doesn't indulge in it much herself in front of anyone other than Elyza.
Oh goodness, these two imply a hell of a lot but as far as I know they haven't actually done anything with each other, yet. Elyza is interested, on the casual "she's cute" level, but trust issues and some other things keep her from doing anything about it.
Aeryn hasn't really thought about sex with women for fun (what she's done in the past for money is another thing) and she's just the sort of person to be touchy feely with people she likes. She also likes to cuddle in her sleep and the room they were sleeping it was too small to have the futons spaced apart.
Ah, the nanos. There are nanos for just about everything in that world. The paint in the rooms they were setting up turns every surface into a potential camera for instance.
As for the ones in the girls, they accelerate healing, reinforce muscles, regulate the blood oxygen, reduce CO2, enhance night vision, and a host of other things, like dealing with excess fat. Part of why Aeryn's so perky and energetic is because of the high amount of fat in her diet, it supplies her nanos with more energy than they need so they're a bit overclocked.
Elyza avoids a lot of fat so her nanos have to get their energy from the carbohydrates she consumes. If she didn't have military grade nanos (Aeryn's are top of the line civilian ones) she'd actually be in danger of starvation if she had to be active for several hours without food.
That's the major downside to having a lot of nanos in your system, you have to keep yourself, and them, well fed and hydrated. The more work they do the faster then need replacing as well, so Aeryn trades off being able to eat anything she wants with having to restock her nanos often. If she didn't she'd probably end up feeling pretty sick as her system suddenly had to deal with all the fat, and if she didn't cut down she'd start gaining weight as well.
Elyza plays it more conservative with her diet so her nanos last longer but she's in more danger if they can't get regular food and water because she has no reserves. In her case it would be more likely that her nanos would run longer than was safe and accelerate the rate of starvation and dehydration if she didn't regulate their activity.
That said, they do have some really quite icky emergency rations that consist of the assorted amino acids and proteins needed to maintain their nanos. They call it sludge both for the texture and taste.
