A dropped stitch in knitting means it unravels in a line down from that stitch, like getting runs in your nylons. Since this is a stitch pattern than frequently makes one stitch into 3 and three stitches into 1 it can't run all the way down, but it would make a large hole. It also throws off my stitch count so I'd have to compensate for it somewhere else. In this case really all I can do is take out everything I've done since that stitch, pick it up, and start knitting again.
It fortunately was only about 2.5 rows back and near the end of the row it was on. I just had one of the "make 1 stitch into 3, make 3 into 1" rows to take out, thankfully. What a pain.
I tweak my sewing as well, it's just harder to do it with knitting sometimes. :D
It was just the perfect follow up to freezing my butt off trying to get the tail light assembly off the Jeep and being foiled by ice.
And getting dead ended on the "oh hey, no way I can pay this student loan thing now, no job, need to get paperwork done NOW because I'm going to be gone next week" thing. :P January is ulcer month, money issues stress me out more than anything else.
OH! I understand now about dropped stitches. That's too bad. :(
And yeah, I read about your "Fun" with the tail light and stuff. Geh. I hope you're warm and cozy now. And sorry about the money stress. Seems like January is always like that, regardless of who you are. ^ ^;;
