When did fanficrants switch to only allowing members to comment? At least that's what I assume from this message I got when I tried to comment on a post:

Sorry, user fanficrants does not list you as a friend, and they've set the "friends only" option for who can reply to their journal.

I think the message shows up the same whether it's the community or the individual poster who's set that option.

LJ does seem to have a lack of variation in their error messages. It was just surprising to find the community had changed their settings. Maybe they announced the changes while I was mostly offline in July/August. Now I need to decide if I want to comment there enough to actually join (and not put them on my friends list because it's very spammy over there).
