*beats head against wall*
Nov. 13th, 2006 08:28 pmWriting is not going well today.
I've gotten "good" at bashing on through even when "uninspired" but I end up writing some pretty bad stuff.
Like the info dump that just exploded in dialog. Chirru is the incredibly curious sort so it's not out of character for him to ask questions but.... It's still bad writing, even if Sierna were the sort to explain things at length.
*argh*
I know Sierna has to go talk to the Storm Priests but getting her there, and what will happen when she does, is eluding me right now.
I took Saturday off, mostly, so I don't want to blow off today, even if I am still ahead of schedule. I want to be at 30,000 words by midnight Wednesday, that should be easy with three days to get 5000 words down. :P
I swear it's partly boredom, I've been writing at least some every day except that first Friday and I can't get away from the muddle I'm making of this story. I've dropped bits here and there along the way and added things that I'm going to have to go back and weave into the story before the point I've added them. I've also not been letting myself think about the story when I'm not actively writing it because I know I'll end up so far ahead of where I am in text that I'll end up not writing it down because I already know the story.
Well typing here isn't getting it done so back to the grindstone.
[Edit to add: The urge to paint the Valley (and the Lowers, and Aksem and Chirru's house, and...) is not helping the situation.]
