YouTube, my planet of origin revealed, communities, aimless writer-ish rambling

My friends have found YouTube and since I've been there frequently in the last few days seeing what they dug up I dug around a bit myself.

Check out "Real Ninjas" (Naruto clips, makes noise)

And while poking around I got the urge to look for interesting AMVs, so I went looking for Bleach AMVs on AnimeMusicVideos.org... and there are 865 downloadable AMVs there. O.O

That's scary. And most of them probably have subs in them. :P

That I can live with. Probably because I like the idea of making Chaos my bitch. ;)

And on an only tangentially related note, the community I made simply so I could tryout layouts for this LJ and the communities I co-manage has a watcher. O.o

It's not like anyone can actually join shadowed_gates, and I say right in the userinfo that it's just for testing things out, but it has a watcher anyway. If I thought I had any chance at all of maintaining reasonable frequent updates on topic for the journal I might be tempted to make an actual community out of it but several of the communities I already maintain could use more activity than I'm giving them.

Ugh. It doesn't help that I have a few recurring ideas for communities that get bogged in the whole "is there a practical way to actually do that" problem. And I really shouldn't be considering more communities in the first place. It's just the writing urge that pops up from time to time has been eating at me lately. I know from experience that I'm a really bad writer when it comes to actually, you know, writing. World building? No problem. Character creation? No problem. General "this is the sort of thing that is going on right now with these people/in this country" thing? It usually comes together nicely. Plot? Uh... I suck. :(

I blame askerian and joisbishmyoga for baiting the writing bunnies. Especially askerian and her cyberpunk Naruto AU and the brainstorming post in her journal about it. Brainstorming is too damned addictive enjoyable.
