This is a bit odd but someone must have done it by now.... Music composed from natural sounds (rain, thunder, wolf howls, etc) than is NOT light floaty 'new age' music. I want some hard music, vocals optional, instruments permitted but they must not dominate over the natural sounds. Heck, I'll take softer stuff if there's a definite melodic line but I have a distinct preference for bass and power in my music (my classical collection is heavy on Wagner, Dvorak, and Liszt).

So, my eclectic friends, do you know of such a beast?

On an unrelated note, Saranac Black & Tan is a decent stout (if there's tan in that black it's really overpowered), though it will never match Stormdragon's. I know, purists will say that a black and tan should be made to order from what's on tap but I don't go out to drink.

Bernie Krause & Human Remains: Gorillas in the Mix. Rykodisc, 1988. Every sound on the album was made from the voice of an animal. Some samples are processed to resemble typical electronic instruments (It seems a walrus produces a pure tone that can be turned into just about anything), but most are recognizable as howls, growls, grunts, hoots, whinnies, and so on. The songs are in a variety of styles. One track does have vocals... by a parrot.
