While I was making those icons I developed a method for colorizing shaded and toned artwork. In order to test it out on something that wasn't skin or hair I grabbed an image of a lunar flower from a Wolf's Rain doujinshi and played with it. The LJ icons sized images link to full sized images.

I think it works pretty well.
