It is always wise to double check the software in case it uses non-standard ports before trying to set up port forwarding or triggering.
Bittorrent normally uses ports 6881-6999 (latest versions, previously it was 6881-6889) but my preferred client (Bittornado) uses 10000-60000, and randomizes in that range. Which makes triggering functionally impossible without disabling the randomization. So I'm using port forwarding again and will have to double check my IP if I notice firewalled behaviors in the future. I haven't noted an increase in speed (well, one of the torrents has sped up, the other hasn't) but the numbers of seeds and peers I'm seeing have doubled (and the green "lights" are back, yay!)
Time to escort the kitties off the bed and get some sleep. Past time actually.
And
toshirodragon: I'm up to the 24th in the
crimsonevening backlog, and building a list of things I've missed that have dead YSI links. (And discovering a dire need of a better way of organizing my collection!)
Maybe I should tell
iceraptoress about that community, when she gets back from vacation....
[Edit: After reading something I was thinking of putting on
crimsonevening (and I'm not sure I liked it enough to bother) I noticed that I have reached 128 kB/s on one of the torrents. WHOO HOO! Definitely faster now, and now... bed.]
