Pre-NaNoWriMo Status report

• Astronomically, geologically, and meteorologically plausible planet - check (Thank you hafoc!)
• Interesting and relatively complex culture for my main viewpoint character(s) - check
• Trade system to bring representatives of other cultures through main culture's territory - check
• Reason for the characters to experience Interesting Times - check
• Rough time line for the Interesting Times - check
• Plot other than "try to survive" - ...well maybe one will turn up when I'm writing ^^;
• Interesting, well developed characters - OMGWTFBBQ!

I am without characters! How the hell did that happen? I resorted to lists years ago just to keep track of all my characters. I have data sheets and family trees and relationship charts for several dozen characters in assorted universes. Why have no characters shown up for this scenario yet?!

Edit to Add: The planet and the reason for the Interesting Times both owe much to hafoc and his responses to my "Any ideas how to get X?" questions.

Also, I have three somewhat vague characters now. Here's hoping I can bash out 50,000 words about them and their world in 30 days.
